Late 1940s – Recognizing the Need
A small group of compassionate individuals sees the need for local physical rehabilitation services.
1953 – A Nonprofit is Born
The Sunshine Center of Indian River County is officially established to serve the physically challenged.
1954 – Official Nonprofit Status
The Center incorporates, solidifying its commitment to accessible care for all.
1950s – Our First Home
W.C. Graves, Jr. donates the Center’s first building, relocated to 17th Avenue.
1959 – A New Focus
The Center shifts its focus to physical therapy and rehabilitation, becoming The Sunshine Rehabilitation Center.
1979 – A New Name & Vision
The Board adopts the operational name Sunshine Physical Therapy Clinic and plans a major expansion.
1980 – Breaking Ground
Ground is broken for a new clinic building at the 17th Avenue location.
1981 – A New Home
The Clinic moves into its new, expanded space, designed to better serve the community.
1994 – Growing with Our Patients
A gym and fitness area is added, expanding therapy options for patients.
